Principal's Message
Dr. Sandra Y. Cabrera has served in public education for 25 years. She graduated from the University of Texas - Pan American in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and she received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2006. In December of 2020, she graduated form Dallas Baptist University with her Doctorate in Educational Leadership K-12.
Dr. Cabrera has taught 4th grade for 11 years and 3rd grade for 1 year. She served as the Assistant Principal at Valley View Elementary for 2 years, Assistant Principal at Vanguard Academy (4th – 12th) for 2 years, Principal at Vanguard Rembrandt Secondary for 3 years, and for the last 6 years Principal of Vanguard Mozart Secondary ECHS.
Dr. Cabrera is passionate about student success – in their academics and in their lives. She wants to know that what Vanguard Mozart Secondary ECHS does on a day-to-day basis positively impacts each student in such a way that transforms their lives and sets them on a path to the best possible future. She also wants students to graduate from Vanguard Academy filled with dreams that will come to fruition because they have been empowered through education to achieve those dreams.
